Welcome to Sokokis  Riders

The Sokokis Riders, Inc. snowmobile club was established in the early 1960s and may be the longest, continuously operating snowmobile club in the state of Maine. Many of the original members were also members of the Buxton/Hollis Lions Club. Today we have approximately 50 members and maintain 60 miles of trail. A primary goal of the club is to continue a good working relationship with the landowners in order to keep our trails open for all to enjoy. Aside from our winter activities which include local and overnight club rides, volunteering to work at the shelter on the pole line where we sell hot dogs, hamburgers, fries and beverages when the weather permits and volunteers are available. Be sure to stop in sometime! We also get together in the summer (usually at least 3 long weekends)for camping trips. We have also sponsored dances and Christmas parties. Also, volunteers man a booth each year at Buxton Old Home Days.

At graduation time we have a scholarship for a graduating senior. If no club member has a graduating senior we work with Bonny Eagle High School to choose one. The club has also been involved in helping members of the community in need by putting on a supper or having a workday. We are a family friendly club and are always looking for new members. Please consider coming to one of our meetings (children welcome) to check us out. Meetings are the first Tuesday of each month at Groveville Firestation on Turkey Lane Road at 7:00 P.M.
